- Abstract: We present a general master equation for the quantum dynamics of a scalar
bosonic particle interacting with an external weak and stochastic gravitational
field. The dynamics predicts decoherence in position as well as in momentum. We
show how the master equation reproduces the results present in the literature
by taking appropriate limits, thus explaining the apparent contradiction in
their dynamical description. We apply our model to a matter wave experiment,
providing a practical formula for determining of the magnitude of gravitational
decoherence. We compare it with the standard experimental sources of
decoherence.

We consider the scenario of a fluctuating spacetime due to a deformed commutation relation with a fluctuating deformation parameter, or to a fluctuating metric tensor.
By computing the resulting dynamics and averaging over these fluctuations, we find that a system experiences a decoherence in the momentum basis.

We develop a framework of integral quantization applied to the motion of spinless particles in the four-dimensional Minkowski spacetime.
The proposed scheme is based on coherent states generated by the action of the Heisenberg-Weyl group.
A direct application of our model, including a computation of transition amplitudes between states characterized by fixed positions and momenta, is postponed to a forthcoming article.
