- Abstract: We prove a nonperturbative duality concerning the dynamics of
harmonic-oscillator-type Unruh-DeWitt detectors in curved spacetimes.
Concretely, using the Takagi transformation we show that the action of a
harmonic oscillator Unruh-DeWitt detector with one frequency in a spacetime is
equal to that of a detector with a different frequency in a conformally related
spacetime. As an example, we show that the dynamics of simple stationary
detectors in flat spacetime is dual to that of detectors in a cosmological
scenario. The nonperturbative duality enables us to investigate entanglement
harvesting in new scenarios in curved spacetime by using results obtained in
simpler, conformally related spacetimes.

We find resonance peaks in the detector response at rational ratios of the superposed compactified lengths, which we observe to be accentuated by the acceleration of the detector.
For the first time we confirm the detailed balance condition due to acceleration in a superposition of spacetimes, commensurate with the Unruh effect in a single spacetime state.

Atoms confined in a three-dimensional dissipative optical lattice oscillate inside potential wells, hopping to adjacent wells, thereby diffusing in all directions.
Illumination by a weak probe beam modulates the lattice, yielding propagating atomic density waves, referred to as Brillouin modes which travel perpendicular to the direction of travel of the probe.
A systematic measurement of the transmitted probe spectra as a function of off-axis probe angle is presented, which is consistent with the velocity- and frequency-matching predictions from the detailed model.

We derive perturbative expressions for the final state of the detector, and show that it depends on field correlation functions evaluated locally.
We show that in general, such a detector does not thermalise even if the superposed paths would individually yield the same thermal state.
