- Abstract: We study the emergence of synchronisation in a chiral network of harmonic
oscillators. The network consists of a set of locally incoherently pumped
harmonic oscillators coupled pairwise in cascade with travelling field modes.
Such cascaded coupling leads to feedback-less dissipative interaction between
the harmonic oscillators of the pair which can be described in terms of an
effective pairwise hamiltonian a collective pairwise decay. The network is
described mathematically in terms of a directed graph. By analysing geometries
of increasing complexity we show how the onset of synchronisation depends
strongly on the network topology, with the emergence of synchronised
communities in the case of complex networks. The quantum nature of the non
local correlation between network nodes is assessed.

Cross-frequency coupling (CFC) is associated with information integration across populations of neurons.
We construct a model of CFC which predicts a computational role for observed $theta - gamma$ oscillatory circuits in the hippocampus and cortex.
We show that the presence of CFC increases the memory capacity of a population of neurons connected by plastic synapses.

We develop a general theoretical framework to dynamically engineer quantum correlations in the frequency-comb emission from an array of superconducting qubits in a waveguide.
We demonstrate, that when the resonance of the two qubits are periodically modulated with a $pi$ phase shift, it is possible to realize simultaneous bunching and antibunching in cross-correlations of the scattered photons from different sidebands.

"KuraNet" is a deep-learning system of coupled oscillators that can learn to synchronize across a distribution of disordered network conditions.
We show how KuraNet can be used to empirically explore the conditions of global synchrony in analytically impenetrable models with disordered natural frequencies, external field strengths, and interaction delays.
In all cases, we show how KuraNet can generalize to both new data and new network scales, making it easy to work with small systems and form hypotheses about the thermodynamic limit.

We report on the switching dynamics of both single and coupled VO2-based oscillators, with resistive and capacitive coupling, and explore the capability of their application in neural networks.
For the resistive coupling, it is shown that synchronization takes place at a certain value of the coupling resistance, though it is unstable and a synchronization failure occurs periodically.
For the capacitive coupling, two synchronization modes, with weak and strong coupling, are found. The transition between these modes is accompanied by chaotic oscillations.
