- Abstract: This dissertation will serve as an introduction to entanglement
quantification, containing highly detailed proofs ensuring solid understanding
of the subject. Specifically, we will review the properties of entanglement
that should be satisfied by a "good" entanglement measure. Then we will have a
look at some of the propositions of the entanglement measures that have been
made over the years. We will review in greater detail the entanglement of
formation. We will discuss the proposals of the mathematical representations of
another property of entanglement, called monogamy. We will introduce some
definitions of monogamous entanglement measures that were proposed and compare
them. As an original observation of mine (page 28), I will also show that
"Should Entanglement Measures be Monogamous or Faithful?" (arXiv:1604.02189)
has already developed most of what is necessary to prove that the entanglement
of formation and the regularised entropy of entanglement are monogamous
entanglement measures in the sense of the definition that was given in
"Monogamy of entanglement without inequalities" (arXiv:1710.03295).

Information [53.520525292756005]
We provide guidelines for linear probing by constructing a novel mathematical framework leveraging information theory.
First, we connect probing with the variational bounds of mutual information (MI) to relax the probe design, equating linear probing with fine-tuning.
We show that the intermediate representations can have the biggest MI estimate because of the tradeoff between better separability and decreasing MI.

Heisenberg argued that measurements irreversibly alter the state of the system on which they are acting, causing an irreducible disturbance on subsequent measurements.
This article shows that measurement incompatibility is indeed a sufficient condition for irreversibility of measurement disturbance.
However, we exhibit a toy theory, termed the minimal classical theory (MCT), that is a counterexample for the converse implication.

We study general monogamy and polygamy relations based on the $alpha$th $(0leqalphaleq gamma)$ power of entanglement measures.
We illustrate that these monogamy and polygamy relations are tighter than the inequalities in the article [Quantum Inf Process 19, 101].
For specific entanglement measures such as concurrence and the convex-roof extended negativity, by applying these relations, one can yield the corresponding monogamous and polygamous inequalities.

Learning [66.52795579973484]
Recent contrastive representation learning methods rely on estimating mutual information (MI) between multiple views of an underlying context.
We propose decomposing the full MI estimation problem into a sum of smaller estimation problems by splitting one of the views into progressively more informed subviews.
This expression contains a sum of unconditional and conditional MI terms, each measuring modest chunks of the total MI.
We show that DEMI can capture a larger amount of MI than standard non-decomposed contrastive bounds in a synthetic setting.
