- Abstract: We propose two novel types of spatially multiplexed single-photon sources
based on incomplete binary-tree multiplexers. The incomplete multiplexers are
extensions of complete binary-tree multiplexers, and they contain incomplete
branches either at the input or at the output of them. We analyze and optimize
these systems realized with general asymmetric routers and
photon-number-resolving detectors by applying a general statistical theory
introduced previously that includes all relevant loss mechanisms. We show that
the use of any of the two proposed multiplexing system can lead to higher
single-photon probabilities than that achieved with complete binary-tree
multiplexers. Single-photon sources based on output-extended incomplete
binary-tree multiplexers outperform those based on input-extended ones in the
considered parameter ranges, and they can in principle yield single-photon
probabilities higher than 0.93 when they are realized by state-of-the-art bulk
optical elements.

Diffusion models (DMs), which enable both image generation from noise and inversion from data, have inspired powerful unpaired image-to-image (I2I) translation algorithms.
We tackle this problem with Schrodinger Bridges (SBs), which are differential equations (SDEs) between distributions with minimal transport cost.
Inspired by this observation, we propose Latent Schrodinger Bridges (LSBs) that approximate the SB ODE via pre-trained Stable Diffusion.
We demonstrate that our algorithm successfully conduct competitive I2I translation in unsupervised setting with only a fraction of cost required by previous DM-

multiphotonic interference and asymptotic classical correspondence [44.99833362998488]
We present the analysis of the quantum two-port interferometer in the $n rightarrow infty$ limit of $n$ partially indistinguishable photons.
Our main result is that the output distribution is dominated by the $O(sqrtn)$ channels around a certain $j*$ that depends on the degree of indistinguishability.
The form is essentially the doubly-humped semi-classical envelope of the distribution that would arise from $2 j*$ indistinguishable photons, and which reproduces the corresponding classical intensity distribution.

Temporal-to-spatial demultiplexing routes non-simultaneous events of the same spatial mode to distinct output trajectories.
We propose and demonstrate a demultiplexing approach that utilizes only a single active element for routing to, in principle, an arbitrary number of outputs.

Single Photon Detectors [58.720142291102135]
Integrated arrays of Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors (SNSPDs) have shown capabilities such as Photon Number Resolution, single photon imaging and coincidences detection.
The growing complexity of such applications requires the use of multiplexing schemes for the simultaneous readout of different detectors.
A simple multiplexing scheme can be realized by arranging a series of SNSPDs elements, shunted by appropriate resistances.
