- Abstract: The nature of spin squeezing has been studied earlier for a coupled state of
two spinors by Usha Devi et. al. (J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 36 5333 (2003)). In
this paper, we extend this study to a coupled state of two spin-1 systems.
Here, we show that the direct product of two spin-1 states exhibits squeezing
unlike the direct product of two spinors. We investigate the nature of
squeezing for non-separable coupled state of two spin-1 systems and identify
the parameters which are responsible for the existence of squeezing. We also
provide ways to generate them by external interactions.

In model 1, the bath spins are Ising spins; in Model 2, they are coupled by transverse spin-spin interactions, and the chain supports spin waves.

Paramagnetic defects in diamond and hexagonal boron nitride possess a unique combination of spin and optical properties that make them solid-state qubits.
Despite the coherence of these spin qubits being critically limited by spin-phonon relaxation, a full understanding of this process is not yet available.
We demonstrate that low-frequency two-phonon modulations of the zero-field splitting are responsible for spin relaxation and decoherence.

It was recently shown that the XX central spin model is integrable in the presence of a magnetic field to the plane in which the coupling exists.
We show that, provided the coupling is strong enough, dark states can actually be found even in the presence of an in-plane magnetic field.

We study the effects of such non-local couplings in the long-range spin-$1/2$ XXZ Heisenberg Hamiltonian.
For fast decay of the spin-spin couplings, we find that the two-spin energy spectrum is characterized by well-defined discrete values.
On the other hand, two-spin bound states enable the dynamical stabilization of effective antiferromagnetic states.
