- Abstract: The ontological models framework distinguishes $\psi$-ontic from
$\psi$-epistemic wavefunctions. It is, in general, quite straightforward to
categorize the wave-function of a certain quantum theory. Nevertheless, there
has been a debate about the ontological status of the wave-function in the
statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics: is it $\psi$-epistemic and
incomplete or $\psi$-ontic and complete? I will argue that the wavefunction in
this interpretation is best regarded as $\psi$-ontic and incomplete.

The eigenstate thermalization hypothesis (ETH) asserts that every eigenstate of a many-body quantum system is indistinguishable from a thermal ensemble.
Here, we show the existence of upper and lower bounds on $m_ast$ such that all $m$-body operators with $m m_ast$ satisfy the ETH.
Our results imply that generic systems satisfy the ETH for any few-body operators, including their thermal and quantum fluctuations.

A general attenuator $Phi_lambda, sigma$ is a bosonic quantum channel that acts by combining the input with a fixed environment state.
We show that for any arbitrary value of $lambda>0$ there exists a suitable single-mode state $sigma(lambda)$.
Our result holds even when we fix an energy constraint at the input of the channel, and implies that quantum communication at a constant rate is possible even in the limit of arbitrarily low transmissivity.
