- Abstract: The study of spontaneously induced nonclassicality as a result of the interaction of an ensemble of two-level emitters embedded onto crystal structure embodying photonic band gap (PBG) is presented. The method of coherent-state propagator is applied upon expressing collective atomic operators in terms of boson operators in view of Schwinger's representation. The autocorrelation of photon number of the radiation alone is shown to display super-Poissonian statistics and chaotic photon character. However, the state of the coupled system is found to exhibit entanglement and nonclassical intensity correlation attributed to the confinement, where intensity of the emitted radiation and degree of entanglement are enhanced near the edge. The prospect of embedding emitters onto PBG can hence be taken as a reliable testing ground for examining fundamentals of emitter-radiation interaction and implementing quantum information processing task that requires mapping of stationary memory with flying message.

Spontaneous emission is a fundamental out-of-equilibrium process in which an excited quantum emitter relaxes to the ground state due to quantum fluctuations.
One way to modify these photon-mediated interactions is to alter the dipole radiation patterns of the emitter, e.g., by placing photonic crystals near them.
Our study delves into the interaction between these directional emission patterns and the aforementioned variables, revealing the untapped potential to fine-tune collective quantum optical phenomena.

Such biphoton correlation is tuned within an unprecedented large range from Rabi oscillation to antibunching-exponential-decay.
Our results provide a unique method to realize the controllability of natural non-Hermitian processes without the assistance of artificial photonic structures.

Two non-identical quantum emitters, when placed within a cavity and coherently excited at the two-photon resonance, can reach stationary states of nearly maximal entanglement.
We show that this mechanism is merely one among a complex family of phenomena that can generate both stationary and metastable entanglement when driving the emitters at the two-photon resonance.

We show how bound states in the continuum (BICs) which are completely decoupled from radiative states emerge in non-Bravais lattices of emitters.
We discuss how thanks to the quasi-BICs, a rich phenomenology takes place in the reflectivity spectrum, with asymmetric Fano resonances and an electromagnetically induced transparency window.

We investigate the optical interaction between two quantum emitters mediated by one-dimensional waveguides in a realistic solid-state environment.
We show that as dephasing increases, the signatures of sub-radiance quickly vanish in intensity measurements.
The work lays out a route to the experimental realization of sub-radiant states in nanophotonic waveguides containing solid-state emitters.

Due to the collective scattering of photons at large optical depth, the steady state of atoms does not correspond to an uncorrelated tensor-product state.
We find and characterize regimes of Raman lasing, akin to the model of a superradiant laser.
