- Abstract: Motivated by a putative model of black holes as quantum objects we consider what types of operators would have a corresponding spectrum. We find that there are indeed such operators, but of a rather unusual types, and for which the wave functions are only barely localized. We point out a tension between such almost delocalized states and black holes as compact objects.

We show a generalization of the quantum volume operator quantifying the volume in curved three-dimensional discrete geometries.
In both cases, we obtain a volume operator that is Hermitian, provided that the input category is unitary.
As an illustrative example, we consider the case of $mathrmSU(2)_k$ and show that the standard $mathrmSU(2)$ volume operator is recovered in the limit $krightarrowinfty$

We find a duality between open many-body systems governed by the Gorini-Kossakowski-Sudarshan-Lindblad (GKSL) equation.
Under this duality, the identity operator on the open system side maps to the thermofield double state.
We identify broad classes of many-body open systems with nontrivial explicit eigen operators $Q$ of the Lindbladian superoperator.

We consider the problem of representing the full boundary operator on a quantum computer.
We first prove that the boundary operator has a special structure in the form of a complete sum of fermionic creation and annihilation operators.
We then use the fact that these operators pairwise anticommute to produce an $O(n)$-depth circuit that exactly implements the boundary operator without any Trotterization or Taylor series approximation errors.
