- Abstract: In the 1980's and 90's, A. O Barut and colleagues developed a nonperturbative approach to electrodynamics eschewing so-called ``second-quantization". Based on incorporation of self-energy terms, the resulting nonlinear and nonlocal theory explained many well-known phenomena of atomic and radiation physics. In 2017, this author introduced a nonlinear, nonlocal theory with the intent of resolving the Measurement Problem. Barut also suggested that his theory resolved such paradoxes. Here I compare the two theories with special attention to That Dot on the Screen.

We show that this criterion inadvertently tests a different property -- locality of the Hamiltonian -- and is insensitive to whether the theory is nonlinear.<n>We recall the correct criterion, identified by Gisin and Polchinski thirty-five years ago, and reformulate their result in field-theoretic language.

We extend the old attempt made by Louis de broglie for interpreting quantum mechanics in realistic terms, namely the double solution.
We are able to justify wave-particle duality and to explain the violations of Bell's inequalities.
We reinterpret the nonlocal action at a distance presents in the pilot-wave theory.
