- Abstract: The key observation about quantum reality is that it often appears as if, at some moment, the probability of a quantum event becomes a definite outcome for us. A careful analysis suggests, however, that what we perceive as a definite state -- the observed outcome of a quantum experiment -- is not strictly definite. From this, we conclude that the quantum world is active: its influence extends beyond a merely statistical and permanently fixed determination of reality as we experience it.

We argue that post-quantum theories can offer a predictive advantage while conforming to the Born rule on average.
We uncover a fascinating possibility: When the assumption of reliable intersubjectivity between different observers is violated, subjective predictive advantage can, in principle, exist.
The findings reconcile us to quantum uncertainty as an aspect of limits on Nature's predictability.

A new quantum postulate is suggested to restore classical locality and causality to quantum physics.
This postulate supports the EPR view that quantum mechanics is incomplete, while also staying compatible to the Bohr view that nothing exists beyond the quantum.

Two particles are identical if all their intrinsic properties, such as spin and charge, are the same.
Quantum mechanics is seen as a normative and algorithmic theory guiding an agent to assess her subjective beliefs represented as (coherent) sets of gambles.
We show how sets of exchangeable observables (gambles) may be updated after a measurement and discuss the issue of defining entanglement for indistinguishable particle systems.
