- Abstract: We present a universal construction that relates reversible dynamics on open
systems to arbitrary dynamics on closed systems: the restriction affine
completion of a monoidal restriction category quotiented by well-pointedness.
This categorical completion encompasses both quantum channels, via Stinespring
dilation, and classical computing, via Bennett's method. Moreover, in these two
cases, we show how our construction can be essentially 'undone' by a further
universal construction. This shows how both mixed quantum theory and classical
computation rest on entirely reversible foundations.

An important feature is that, if the interaction allows for a flow of information from the quantum component to the classical one, necessarily the dynamics is dissipative.

Dual-unitary circuits are a class of locally-interacting quantum many-body systems.
In particular, they admit a class of solvable" initial states for which, in the thermodynamic limit, one can access the full non-equilibrium dynamics.
We show that in this case the entanglement increment during a time step is sub-maximal for finite times, however, it approaches the maximal value in the infinite-time limit.

We study the abstraction of observables, which has been dubbed as classical structures, in a sub-theory of quantum mechanics.
We have constructed a procedure that takes the complementary classical structures of a single qubit system and compose them separably.
For two qubits, we found 13 maximal complete sets of mutually complementary classical structures, and for three qubits, we found 32,448 maximal complete sets.

Three notions are often assumed to be essentially equivalent, representing different facets of the same phenomenon.
We analyze them in general Friedmann-Lemaitre- Robertson-Walker space-times through the lens of geometric structures on the classical phase space.
The analysis shows that: (i) inflation does not play an essential role; classical behavior can emerge much more generally; (ii) the three notions are conceptually distinct; classicality can emerge in one sense but not in another.
