- Abstract: Motivated by the fact that the null-shell of a collapsing black hole can be
described by a perfectly reflecting accelerating mirror, we investigate an
extension of this model to mirror semi-transparency and derive a general
implicit expression for the corresponding Bogoliubov coefficients. Then, we
turn this into an explicit analytical form by focusing on mirrors that are
accelerated via an impulsive force. From the so-obtained Bogoliubov
coefficients we derive the particle production. Finally, we realize the field
coming from left-past spacetime region, passing through the semitransparent
moving mirror and ending up to right-future spacetime region as undergoing the
action of a Gaussian quantum channel. We study the transmission and noisy
generation properties of this channel, relating them to the Bogoliubov
coefficients of the mirror's motion, through which we evaluate capacities in
transmitting classical and quantum information.

We show the ability to restore states of quantum systems from evolution induced by quantum dynamical semigroups perturbed by covariant measures.
Our procedure describes reconstruction of quantum states transmitted via quantum channels and as a particular example can be applied to reconstruction of photonic states transmitted via optical fibers.

We adopt an open quantum system approach to study the dynamics of a moving mirror.
We derive the master equation governing the mechanical motion of the mirror.
We show that the noise and dissipation kernels, that enter in the definition of the time-dependent coefficients of the master equation, are related by fluctuation-dissipation relations.

homogeneous gravitational field [0.0]
We investigate the effect of time-dependent boundary conditions on the dynamics of a quantum bouncer -- a particle falling in a homogeneous gravitational field on a moving mirror.
We find that some effects, such as the fact that a quantum particle hitting a moving mirror may bounce significantly higher than when the mirror is fixed, are in line with classical intuition.

We evaluate the probability of (de-)excitation and photon emission from a neutral, moving, non-relativistic atom, coupled to a quantum electromagnetic field and in the presence of a thin, perfectly conducting plane ("mirror")
Results extend to a more realistic model, where the would-be electron was described by a scalar variable, coupled to an (also scalar) vacuum field.

We show that a partially reflecting static mirror with time-dependent properties can produce, via dynamical Casimir effect, a larger number of particles than a perfectly reflecting one.
As particular limits, our results recover those found in the literature for a perfect static mirror imposing a generalized or an usual time-dependent Robin boundary condition.

All the local realisations of the free (Laplace-Beltrami) quantum Hamiltonian are examined as non-equivalent protocols of transmission/reflection.
This allows to comprehend the distinguished status of the so-called bridging' transmission protocol previously identified in the literature.

We emphasise that the local density of states of the electromagnetic field depends on the reflection rates of both sides of the mirror surface.
