- Abstract: This paper aims to invalidate the hypothesis that consciousness is necessary
for the quantum measurement process. To achieve this target, I propose a
considerable modification of the Schroedinger cat and the Dead-Alive Physicist
thought experiments, called 'PIAR', short for Physicist Inside the Ambiguous
Room. A specific strategy has enabled me to plan the experiment in such a way
as to logically justify the inconsistency of the above hypothesis and to oblige
its supporters to rely on an alternative interpretation of quantum mechanics in
which the real-world phenomena exist independently of our conscious mind and
where observers play no special role. Moreover, in my description, the
measurement apparatus will be complete, in the sense that the experiment, given
that it includes also the experimenter, will begin and end exclusively within a
sealed room. Hence, my analysis provides a logical explanation of the
relationship between the observer and the objects of her/his experimental
observation; this and a few other implications are discussed in the fifth
section and the conclusions.

It was recently noted the existence of an apparently discontinuous boundary between determinism and indeterminism in Quantum Mechanics.
We propose to explore this boundary by recording the distribution of outcomes of a given parity interrupted by outcomes of the other parity.
The features of these distributions for small rotations of the angle settings near critical points may indicate whether the underlying process is in-deterministic or not.

Two particles are identical if all their intrinsic properties, such as spin and charge, are the same.
Quantum mechanics is seen as a normative and algorithmic theory guiding an agent to assess her subjective beliefs represented as (coherent) sets of gambles.
We show how sets of exchangeable observables (gambles) may be updated after a measurement and discuss the issue of defining entanglement for indistinguishable particle systems.

Bell's experiment description assumes the (Quantum Mechanics-language equivalent of the classical) condition of Locality.
This result is complementary to a recently published one demonstrating that non-Locality is necessary to describe said experiment.
It is concluded that, within the framework of Quantum Mechanics, there is absolutely no reason to believe in the existence of non-Local effects.
