- Abstract: This work explores the asymmetry of quantum steering in a setup using
high-dimensional entanglement. We construct entangled states with the following
properties: $(i)$ one party (Alice) can never steer the state of the other
party (Bob), considering the most general measurements, and $(ii)$ Bob can
strongly steer the state of Alice, demonstrating genuine high-dimensional
steering. In other words, Bob can convince Alice that they share an entangled
state of arbitrarily high Schmidt number, while Alice can never convince Bob
that the state is even simply entangled. In this sense, one-way steering can
become unlimited. A key result for our construction is a condition for the
joint measurability of all high-dimensional measurements subjected to the
combined effect of noise and loss, which is of independent interest.

Quantum resources may provide advantage over their classical counterparts.
We construct such a task based on a game, mediated by Referee and played between Alice and Bob.
We show that if Alice sends limited amount of classical information then the game cannot be won while the quantum analogue of the limited amount of classical information' is sufficient for winning the game.

A core principle of quantum theory is that non-orthogonal quantum states cannot be perfectly distinguished with single-shot measurements.

preparation for copy-protection, verification, and more [125.99533416395765]
Many cryptographic primitives are two-party protocols, where one party, Bob, has full quantum computational capabilities, and the other party, Alice, is only required to send random BB84 states to Bob.
We show how such protocols can generically be converted to ones where Alice is fully classical, assuming that Bob cannot efficiently solve the LWE problem.
This means that all communication between (classical) Alice and (quantum) Bob is classical, yet they can still make use of cryptographic primitives that would be impossible if both parties were classical.

We consider a new quantum steering scenario in which one half of a two-qubit Werner state is sequentially measured by multiple Alices and the other half by multiple Bobs.
We find that the maximum number of Alices who can share steering with a single Bob increases from 2 to 5 when the number of measurement settings $N$ increases from 2 to 16.
Our work gives insights into the diversity of steering sharing and can be extended to study the problems such as genuine multipartite quantum steering.
