- Abstract: Nonlinear wave propagation in large extra spatial dimensions (on and above $d=2$) is investigated in the context of nonlinear electrodynamics theories that depend exclusively on the invariant $\mathcal{F}\left(=-(1/4)F_{\mu\nu}F^{\mu\nu}\right)$. In this vein, we consider propagating waves under the influence of external uniform electric and magnetic fields. Features related to the blackbody radiation in the presence of a background constant electric field such as the generalization of the spectral energy density distribution and the Stefan-Boltzmann law are obtained. Interestingly enough, anisotropic contributions to the frequency spectrum appear in connection to the nonlinearity of the electromagnetic field. In addition, the long wavelength regime and Wien's displacement law in this situation are studied. The corresponding thermodynamics quantities at thermal equilibrium, such as energy, pressure, entropy, and heat capacity densities are contemplated as well.

A stationary body out of thermal equilibrium with its environment experiences a quantum torque.
This arises from the spatially non-symmetric electrical response of the body to its interaction with the non-equilibrium thermal fluctuations of the electromagnetic field.

We introduce a two-dimensional non-Hermitian lattice model with an imaginary magnetic field.
We show that the energy spectrum does not converge as lattice size is made larger, which comes from the intrinsic nonperiodicity of the model.
We also find an analog of the Aharonov-Bohm effect; the net change of the norm of the wave function upon adiabatically forming a closed path is determined by the imaginary magnetic flux enclosed by the path.

We demonstrate the existence of an intrinsic nonlinear boson thermal current, arising from the quantum metric.
In contrast to the nonlinear Drude and nonlinear anomalous Hall contributions, the intrinsic nonlinear thermal conductivity is independent of the scattering timescale.
Our findings highlight the significance of band geometry induced nonlinear thermal transport and motivate experimental probe of the intrinsic nonlinear thermal Hall response with implications for quantum magnonics.

In vacuum there is no net force on such a particle.
Because of loss of mass by the particle due to radiation, the self-force precisely cancels this inertial effect.
If the particle is moving in a homogeneous medium faster than the speed of light in the medium, Vavilov-vCerenkov radiation results.
