- Abstract: An extension of Cencov's categorical description of classical inference
theory to the domain of quantum systems is presented. It provides a novel
categorical foundation to the theory of quantum information that embraces both
classical and quantum information theory in a natural way, while also allowing
to formalise the notion of quantum environment. A first application of these
ideas is provided by extending the notion of statistical manifold to
incorporate categories, and investigating a possible, uniparametric Cramer-Rao
inequality in this setting.

A class of quantum resource theories, based on non-linear standardovian-shape sets, is presented.
Proposed techniques provide useful tools to describe quantum discord, total composite quantum systems and to estimate non-Markity of an analyzed quantum dynamics.
In all cases, the non-linear witnesses introduced here outperform the standard witnesses.

We make a conceptual overview of an approach to the initial-value problem in canonical gauge theories.
We stress how the first-class phase-space constraints may be relaxed if we interpret them as fixing the values of new degrees of freedom.

General Probabilistic Theories (GPTs) is a new information theoretical approach to single out standard quantum theory.
We focus on the bound of the performance for an information task called state discrimination in general models.
We characterize standard quantum theory out of general models in GPTs by the bound of the performance for state discrimination.

We focus on the relationship between Kolmogorov consistency of measurement statistics and the commutativity of measurement operators.
On the other hand, commutativity of measurement operators is a structural property that holds in classical physics.
We detail their implications for memoryless multi-time quantum processes.

Three notions are often assumed to be essentially equivalent, representing different facets of the same phenomenon.
We analyze them in general Friedmann-Lemaitre- Robertson-Walker space-times through the lens of geometric structures on the classical phase space.
The analysis shows that: (i) inflation does not play an essential role; classical behavior can emerge much more generally; (ii) the three notions are conceptually distinct; classicality can emerge in one sense but not in another.
