- Abstract: The dynamical and radiative features of an excited system of two identical atoms are analysed. The metastability of the system, the directionality of its emission and its internal forces are studied. Closed-form expressions are derived for the time-evolution of the system, for the angular distribution of its spontaneous emission, and for its internal dipole forces, both conservative and nonconservative. The latter reveals the presence of nonreciprocal forces, which leads to a net oscillatory force upon the system. We estimate that, for a free binary system of Li Rydberg atoms, the net internal force may cause a displacement of its center of mass as large as $120 nm$ over a lifetime.

- Non-Markovianity of subsystem dynamics in isolated quantum many-body systems [0.0]
It is believed that an isolated quantum many-body system far away from equilibrium should try to attain equilibrium via a mechanism whereby any given subsystem acts as an open quantum system.
This picture begs the question whether the dynamics of any given subsystem is Markovian (monotonic loss of information and memory) or non-Markovian.

interplay between symmetries and entanglement in out-of-equilibrium quantum systems is currently at the centre of an intense multidisciplinary research effort.
We show that one can introduce a class of solvable states, which extends that of generic dual unitary circuits.
In contrast to the known class of solvable states, which relax to the infinite temperature state, these states relax to a family of non-trivial generalised Gibbs ensembles.

metastable density structures that suppress emission into one cavity mode prevent relaxation to the stationary, superradiant grating.
We reproduce these dynamics by a quantum mean field model, suggesting that subradiance shares characteristics with quasi-stationary states predicted in other long-range interacting systems.

Two non-identical quantum emitters, when placed within a cavity and coherently excited at the two-photon resonance, can reach stationary states of nearly maximal entanglement.
We show that this mechanism is merely one among a complex family of phenomena that can generate both stationary and metastable entanglement when driving the emitters at the two-photon resonance.
