- Abstract: Motivated by the great interest in studying quantum and gravitational phenomena in a unified way, scalar bosons are considered in a cosmic-string spacetime and in a non-inertial framework, with a generalized gravitational interaction containing both relativistic and quantum corrections. Solutions for the quantum-corrected gravitational interaction for an arbitrary state are reported in a quasi-exact manner and a discussion of the structure of the problem, whose special case appears in double confluent Heun form, is given.

In the standard paradigm the inhomogeneities observed in the CMB arise from quantum fluctuations of an initially homogeneous and isotropic vacuum state.<n>We propose an alternative paradigm in which such inhomogeneities are present from the very beginning.<n>Specifically, inhomogeneities in the quantum state at the Planck scale propagate into semiclassical inhomogeneities on CMB scales.

We employ linearized quantum gravity to show that gravitational redshift occurs as a purely quantum process.
Redshift occurs as predicted by general relativity but arises in flat spacetime in the absence of curvature.
Results can help improve our understanding of the quantum nature of gravity in the low energy and low curvature regime.

coupled to quantum matter [0.0]
We generalize the Hamiltonian picture of General Relativity coupled to classical matter, known as geometrodynamics, to the case where gravity is described by a Quantum Field Theory in Curved Spacetime.
In our approach there is no non-dynamic background structure, apart from the manifold of events, and the gravitational and quantum degrees of freedom have their dynamics inextricably coupled.
An important feature of this work is the use of Gaussian measures over the space of matter fields and of Hida distributions to define a common superspace to all possible Hilbert spaces with different measures, to properly characterize the Schrodinger wave functional picture of QFT in

The mass of the universe is a distribution of non-zero values of gravitational constraints.
A formulation of the Euclidean quantum theory of gravity is also proposed to determine the initial state.
Being unrelated to ordinary matter, the distribution of its own mass affects the geometry of space.

Quantization smears the gravitational singularity avoiding its localization in the configuration space.
Results suggest that the generic singularity of general relativity can be avoided at quantum level.

in nonrelativistic quantum systems [0.0]
Post-Newtonian gravitational effects in composite nonrelativistic quantum systems have been discussed, where the internal energy contributes to the mass, promoting the mass to a Hilbert space operator.
It can be shown that both concepts, when combined, result in inconsistencies, reinforcing the arguments for the necessity of a rigorous derivation of the nonrelativistic limit of gravitating quantum matter from first principles.
