- Abstract: We study the finite-temperature dynamics of non-interacting bosons with a single static spinful impurity immersed. A non-zero contact boson-impurity pairwise interaction is assumed only for the spin-up impurity state. By tracing out bosonic degrees of freedom, the exact time evolution of the impurity spin is calculated for pure and mixed initial ensembles of states. The time-dependent momentum distribution of bosons initially created in the Bose condensed state and driven by the interaction with spin is analyzed.

impurity immersed in a Bose-Einstein condensate forms a stable quasi-particle when the total momentum is less than its mass times the speed of sound.
The system thus exhibits superfluid behavior, as this quasi-particle does not experience friction.

Paramagnetic defects in diamond and hexagonal boron nitride possess a unique combination of spin and optical properties that make them solid-state qubits.
Despite the coherence of these spin qubits being critically limited by spin-phonon relaxation, a full understanding of this process is not yet available.
We demonstrate that low-frequency two-phonon modulations of the zero-field splitting are responsible for spin relaxation and decoherence.

Spin-bath interactions are strongly anisotropic, and rapid physical rotation has long been used in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance.
We show that the interaction between electron spins of nitrogen-vacancy centers and a bath of $13$C nuclear spins introduces decoherence into the system.
Our findings offer new insights into the use of physical rotation for quantum control with implications for quantum systems having motional and rotational degrees of freedom that are not fixed.

We propose and investigate a pump-probe spectroscopy scheme to unveil the time-resolved dynamics of fermionic or bosonic impurities immersed in a harmonically trapped Bose-Einstein condensate.
A pump pulse initially transfers the impurities from a noninteracting to a resonantly interacting spin-state and, after a finite time, the probe pulse reverses this transition.
We show that for interspecies repulsions exceeding the intraspecies ones a temporality catastrophe occurs, followed by enhanced energy redistribution processes, independently of the impurity's flavor.
