- Abstract: These proceedings contain the papers that were presented at the 7th Workshop on Models for Formal Analysis of Real Systems (MARS 2026), which took place on 12 April 2026 in Turin, Italy, as a satellite event of the 29th International Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software (ETAPS 2026). The goal of MARS is to bring together researchers from different communities who are developing formal models of real systems in areas where complex models occur (e.g., networks, cyber-physical systems, hardware/software codesign, biology). The motivation for MARS stems from the following two observations: - Large case studies are essential to show that specification formalisms and modelling techniques are applicable to real systems, whereas many papers only consider toy examples or tiny case studies. - Developing an accurate model of a real system takes a large amount of time, often months or years. In most papers, however, salient details of the model need to be skipped due to lack of space, and to leave room for formal verification methodologies and results. MARS aims at remedying these issues, emphasising modelling over verification, so as to retain lessons learned from formal modelling, which are not usually discussed elsewhere, and which may lay the basis for future analysis and comparison.

Modelpedia is an automated framework that extracts findings about models from published papers, links it to the model, dataset, method, and concept it concerns, and aggregates the result into a searchable public catalog.<n>Applying the prototype to accepted ICLR 2024 and 2025 papers, we extract over a thousand findings and, treating the catalog itself as an object of study, run a meta-analysis of how the community investigates models.

This volume contains the sixth workshop on Models for Formal Analysis of Real Systems, held as part of ETAPS 2024, the European Joint Conference on Theory and Practice of Software.
The MARS workshops bring together researchers from different communities who are developing formal models of real systems in areas where complex models occur, such as networks, cyber-physical systems, hardware/software co-design, biology, etc.
The motivation and aim for MARS stem from the following two observations: (1) Large case studies are essential to show that specification formalisms and modelling techniques are applicable to real systems, whereas many research papers only consider toy examples or tiny case

This paper introduces the background of multi-modal pre-training by reviewing the conventional deep, pre-training works in natural language process, computer vision, and speech.
Then, we introduce the task definition, key challenges, and advantages of multi-modal pre-training models (MM-PTMs), and discuss the MM-PTMs with a focus on data, objectives, network, and knowledge enhanced pre-training.

in Lifelong Reinforcement Learning [56.50123642237106]
Common practice in model-based reinforcement learning is to learn models that model every aspect of the agent's environment.
We argue that such models are not particularly well-suited for performing scalable and robust planning in lifelong reinforcement learning scenarios.
We propose new kinds of models that only model the relevant aspects of the environment, which we call "minimal value-minimal partial models"
