- Abstract: Super-heavy atoms ($Z > 100$) are usually studied in the context of the so-called ``Quantum Electrodynamics of Strong Fields''. In this theory the problem of the singularity in the electron energy whenever $Z > 137$ is overcome. This is done by considering the finite size of the nucleus and leads to interesting phenomena, such as the spontaneous production of positrons. Here, we show that taking into account the contribution from the Anomalous Magnetic Dipole Moment of the electron (by means of an effective theory), within a point-nucleus model, is a sufficient condition to obtain regular wave functions and physically acceptable energy values for $Z > 137$.
