Oscillator
- Authors: Gardo Blado, Amanda Johnson, Otto Gadea, Francisco Herrera
- Abstract summary: We investigate the entanglement of a system of coupled harmonic oscillators.
A simple form of entanglement criterion in terms of their interaction is found.
It is shown that a pair of interacting ground state coupled oscillators are more likely to be entangled for weaker coupling strengths.

Phys. Rev. Lett. 103 160505] Shannon Entropic Entanglement Criterion (SEEC), to
simple harmonic oscillators, a system typically discussed in undergraduate
quantum mechanics courses. In particular, we investigate the entanglement of a
system of coupled harmonic oscillators. A simple form of entanglement criterion
in terms of their interaction is found. It is shown that a pair of interacting
ground state coupled oscillators are more likely to be entangled for weaker
coupling strengths while coupled oscillators in excited states entangle at
higher coupling strengths. Interacting oscillators are more likely to be
entangled as their interaction increases.

We create arbitrary superpositions of nonclassical and non-Gaussian states of a quantum harmonic oscillator using the motion of a trapped ion coupled to its internal spin states.
We observe the nonclassical nature of these states in the form of Wigner negativity following a full state reconstruction.

We report on the switching dynamics of both single and coupled VO2-based oscillators, with resistive and capacitive coupling, and explore the capability of their application in neural networks.
For the resistive coupling, it is shown that synchronization takes place at a certain value of the coupling resistance, though it is unstable and a synchronization failure occurs periodically.
For the capacitive coupling, two synchronization modes, with weak and strong coupling, are found. The transition between these modes is accompanied by chaotic oscillations.
