- Abstract: Analytical solutions of the Dirac equation in an external electromagnetic
field are found such that according to the field-theoretic interpretation
electron-positron pairs are trapped for a period of time. The naive
one-particle interpretation of the Dirac wave function fails in this case
completely. Simple electromagnetic field which produces this effect was
undeniably concocted and may look artificial but the phenomenon of time traps
seems real.

We propose an electrodynamic Aharonov-Bohm scheme where a nonzero AB phase difference appears even if the interferometer paths do not enclose a magnetic flux.
In the proposal, the current in a solenoid outside the interferometer varies in time while the quantum particle is in a superposition state inside two Faraday cages.

We report on an emergent mechanism for pumping in a quantum gas coupled to an optical resonator.
Due to dissipation, the cavity field evolves between its two quadratures, each corresponding to a different centrosymmetric crystal configuration.
This self-oscillation results in a time-periodic potential analogous to that describing the transport of electrons in topological tight-binding models.

Run-and-tumble particles naturally appear outside a biological context as well, e.g. for producing waves in the telegraph process.
We visualize the trajectories in diffraction and double slit experiments for electrons.
We observe that away from pure quantum guidance, run-and-tumble particles with suitable spacetime-dependent parameters produce an interference pattern as well.
