- Abstract: We study Bosonic representation of spin Ising model with the application of
simulating two level systems using continuous variable quantum processors. We
decompose the time evolution of spin systems into a sequence of continuous
variable logical gates and analyze their structure. We provide an estimation of
quantum circuit scaling with the size of the spin lattice system. Furthermore,
we discuss the possibility of using a Gaussian Boson sampling device to
estimate the ground state energy of Ising Hamiltonian. The result has potential
application in developing hybrid classical-quantum algorithms such as
continuous variable version of variational quantum eigensolver.

Quantum algorithms for quantum dynamics simulations are traditionally based on implementing a Trotter-approximation of the time-evolution operator.
variational quantum algorithms have become an indispensable alternative, enabling small-scale simulations on present-day hardware.
We show that, despite providing a clear reduction of quantum gate cost, the variational method in its current implementation is unlikely to lead to a quantum advantage.

We introduce a quantum version for the statistical complexity measure, in the context of quantum information theory, and use it as a signalling function of quantum order-disorder transitions.
We apply our measure to two exactly solvable Hamiltonian models, namely: the $1D$-Quantum Ising Model and the Heisenberg XXZ spin-$1/2$ chain.
We also compute this measure for one-qubit and two-qubit reduced states for the considered models, and analyse its behaviour across its quantum phase transitions for finite system sizes as well as in the thermodynamic limit by using Bethe ansatz.
