- Abstract: We extend to a non-Hermitian fermionic quantum field theory with PT symmetry
our previous discussion of second quantization, discrete symmetry
transformations, and inner products in a scalar field theory
[arXiv:2006.06656]. For illustration, we consider a prototype model containing
a single Dirac fermion with a parity-odd, anti-Hermitian mass term. In the
phase of unbroken PT symmetry, this Dirac fermion model is equivalent to a
Hermitian theory under a similarity transformation, with the non-Hermitian
nature of the model residing only in the spinor structure, whereas the algebra
of the creation and annihilation operators is just that of a Hermitian theory.

We explore exact generalized symmetries in the standard 2+1d lattice $mathbbZ$ gauge theory coupled to the Ising model.
One model has a (non-anomalous) non-invertible symmetry, and we identify two distinct non-invertible symmetry protected topological phases.
We discuss how the symmetries and anomalies in these two models are related by gauging, which is a 2+1d version of the Kennedy-Tasaki transformation.

We show that particles and antiparticles sharing the same wave number have different energies and momenta.
We conjecture that this non-degeneracy in the energies for particles and antiparticles may lead to a fully relativistic understanding of the asymmetry between matter and antimatter in the present day universe.
