- Abstract: In this paper, the tunnelling of a particle through a potential barrier is
investigated in the presence of a time-dependent perturbation. The latter is
attributed to the process of the energy measurement of the scattered particle.
The time-dependent Schrodinger equation of the model is exactly solved. The
calculation of the probability density inside the barrier proves that the
tunnelling dynamics is determined not only by the transmitted and reflected
waves but also by their interference. Furthermore, the interference term is
time-dependent and contribute to the scattering process duration. The
tunnelling time is calculated as the time to stop the flow of probability
density inside the barrier. This is the minimum duration of the measurement
process before detecting the particle beyond the barrier. Based on this, a new
method of estimating the tunnelling time by energy experimental measuring is
proposed.

It was recently noted the existence of an apparently discontinuous boundary between determinism and indeterminism in Quantum Mechanics.
We propose to explore this boundary by recording the distribution of outcomes of a given parity interrupted by outcomes of the other parity.
The features of these distributions for small rotations of the angle settings near critical points may indicate whether the underlying process is in-deterministic or not.

We argue that a partial-tunneling process is always instantaneous, while a full-tunneling process takes a non-zero amount of time.
We are led to the hypothesis that experimentally measured non-zero and vanishing tunneling times correspond to partial and full-tunneling processes, respectively.

The influence of spin on the tunneling times is described.

We numerically study two methods of measuring tunneling times using a quantum clock.
In the conventional method using the Larmor clock, we show that the Larmor tunneling time can be shorter for higher tunneling barriers.
In the second method, we study the probability of a spin-flip of a particle when it is transmitted through a potential barrier.

We report on an emergent mechanism for pumping in a quantum gas coupled to an optical resonator.
Due to dissipation, the cavity field evolves between its two quadratures, each corresponding to a different centrosymmetric crystal configuration.
This self-oscillation results in a time-periodic potential analogous to that describing the transport of electrons in topological tight-binding models.

It is conceivable that atom interferometers measure general-relativistic time-dilation effects.
We show that closed light-pulse interferometers without clock transitions during the pulse sequence are not sensitive to gravitational time dilation in a linear potential.
