- Abstract: In the context of a particular framework of emergent quantum mechanics, it is
argued the emergent origin of the inertial mass of a physical systems. Two main
consequences of the theory are discussed: an emergent interpretation of the law
of inertia and a derivation of the energy-time uncertainty relation.

The mass of the universe is a distribution of non-zero values of gravitational constraints.
A formulation of the Euclidean quantum theory of gravity is also proposed to determine the initial state.
Being unrelated to ordinary matter, the distribution of its own mass affects the geometry of space.

in nonrelativistic quantum systems [0.0]
Post-Newtonian gravitational effects in composite nonrelativistic quantum systems have been discussed, where the internal energy contributes to the mass, promoting the mass to a Hilbert space operator.
It can be shown that both concepts, when combined, result in inconsistencies, reinforcing the arguments for the necessity of a rigorous derivation of the nonrelativistic limit of gravitating quantum matter from first principles.
