- Abstract: We study the system of a massive fermion confined between two parallel
plates, where the properties of both plates are discussed under chiral MIT
boundary conditions. We investigate the effects of the chiral angle in the
Casimir energy for a massive fermion with the general momentum. We find that
the Casimir energy in the function of the chiral angle is generally
symmetrical, and the attractive Casimir force in the chiral case is stronger
than that in the nonchiral case. In addition, we investigate the approximate
Casimir energy in light and heavy mass cases. The general discrete momenta's
behavior and changes of spin orientations are also discussed.

We investigate what types of Casimir effects can occur from quark fields in dense and thin quark matter.
In particular, in the dual chiral density wave, we find that the Casimir energy oscillates as a function of the thickness of matter.
This oscillating Casimir effect is regarded as an analog of that in Weyl semimetals and is attributed to the Weyl points in the momentum space of quark fields.

The Casimir effect is a quantum phenomenon induced by the zero-point energy of relativistic fields confined in a finite-size system.
We show the typical properties of the Casimir effect for relativistic electron fields in Dirac/Weyl semimetals.
We find an oscillation of the Casimir energy as a function of the thickness of the thin film, which stems from the existence of Dirac/Weyl nodes in momentum space.
