- Abstract: Erwin Schr\"odinger is famous for presenting his wave equation of motion that
jump-started quantum mechanics. His disenchantment with the Copenhagen
interpretation of quantum mechanics led him to unveil the Schr\"odinger's cat
paradox, which did not get much attention for nearly half a century. In the
meantime, disappointment with quantum mechanics turned his interest to biology
facilitating, albeit in a peripheral way, the revelation of the structure of
DNA. Interest in Schr\"odinger's cat has recently come roaring back making its
appearance conspicuously in numerous scientific articles. From the arguments
presented here, it would appear that the legendary Schr\"odinger's cat is here
to stay, symbolizing a profound truth that quantum reality exists at all
scales; but we do not observe it in our daily macroscopic world as it is masked
for all practical purposes, most likely by environmental decoherence with
irreversible thermal effects.

We explore the interplay between quantum nonreciprocity and topology in a one-dimensional microcavity array.
We obtain the Schr"odinger cat state in a chosen direction at the edge cavity, whereas a it classical state in the other direction.
The obtained cat state has nonreciprocal high fidelity, nonclassicality, and quantum coherence.

We explain how the so-called Einstein locality is to be understood in the Schr"odinger picture of quantum mechanics.
Contrary to some beliefs that quantum mechanics is incomplete, it is, in fact, its overcompleteness as exemplified by different pictures of quantum physics, that points to the same underlying reality.

We give a general proof showing that once irreversible processes are involved, a class of projective measurements is impossible.
Applying this no-go result to the Schroedinger's cat paradox implies that if something is claimed to be a real Schroedinger's cat, there will be no measurable difference between it and a trivial classical mixture of ordinary cats.

In the original thought experiment of the Quantum Cheshire Cat, the physical properties of the cat (state) can be decoupled from its quantum entities.
Here, we conceive a new thought experiment that exploits quantum entanglement with weak (value) measurement.

The superposition principle is one of the most fundamental principles of quantum mechanics.
Here we demonstrate the preparation of a mechanical resonator with an effective mass of 16.2 micrograms in Schr"odinger cat states of motion.
We show control over the size and phase of the superposition and investigate the decoherence dynamics of these states.

It is argued that the Schr"odinger equation does not yield a correct description of the quantum-mechanical time evolution of states of isolated (open) systems featuring events.
A precise general law for the time evolution of states replacing the Schr"odinger equation is formulated within the so-called ETH-Approach to Quantum Mechanics.
