- Abstract: We study the effect of inter-condensate dipole-dipole interactions in a setup consisting of physically disconnected single-species dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates. In particular, making use of the long-range and anisotropic nature of dipole-dipole interactions, we show that the density of a {\em target} dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate can be axially confined and engineered using a trapped {\em control} dipolar condensate. Increasing the number of control condensates leads to exotic ground state structures, including periodic patterns. The latter consists of single and double-peaked structures with coherence between the peaks controlled via the separation between the control condensates, thereby accessing both supersolid-like structures and incoherent arrays of density peaks.

We show that the strength of such photon-mediated interactions decays exponentially with distance with a characteristic localization length.
We find that the localization length grows with the overlap between CLSs according to an analytically-derived universal scaling law valid for a large class of FBs both in 1D and 2D.

We investigate the merging behaviour of two identical supersolids through dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates confined within a double-well potential.
By adiabatically tuning the barrier height and the spacing between the two wells, the two supersolids move toward each other and lead to the emergence of a variety of ground state phases.
We calculate the force required to pull the two portions of the gas apart, finding that the merged supersolids act like a deformable plastic material.
