- Title: Blackbody heat capacity at constant pressure
- Authors: E. S. Moreira Jr,
- Abstract summary: Heat capacity at constant pressure, $C_P$, as well as, the coefficient of thermal expansion, $alpha$, and the isothermal compressibility, $kappa_T$, are ill-defined quantities.
It will be shown that $C_P$, $alpha$ and $kappa_T$ depend very much on the geometry of the cavity.

- Abstract: At first glance, the title of this work seems to be improper. And the reason is well known. Since blackbody pressure depends only on temperature, one cannot take the derivative of the thermodynamic quantities with respect to one of them, keeping the other constant. That is, the heat capacity at constant pressure, $C_{P}$, as well as, the coefficient of thermal expansion, $\alpha$, and the isothermal compressibility, $\kappa_{T}$, are ill-defined quantities. This work will show that when the perfect conducting nature of the walls of a blackbody cavity is taken into account, $C_{P}$, $\alpha$ and $\kappa_{T}$ are in fact well defined, and they are related by the usual thermodynamic relations, as expected. Two geometries will be considered, namely, a spherical shell and a cubic box. It will be shown that $C_{P}$, $\alpha$ and $\kappa_{T}$ depend very much on the geometry of the cavity. Issues regarding thermodynamic stability will be addressed, revealing that they also depend on the cavity's geometry. It is argued that these findings may be amenable to experimental verification.

How do noncommuting charges affect thermodynamic phenomena?
Charges' noncommutation has been found to invalidate derivations of the thermal state's form.
Evidence suggests that noncommuting charges may hinder thermalization in some ways while enhancing thermalization in others.

It is a long held conjecture in the connection between information geometry (IG) and thermodynamics that the curvature endowed by IG diverges at phase transitions.
Recent work on the IG of Bose-Einstein (BE) gases challenged this conjecture by saying that in the limit of fugacity approaching unit -- where BE condensation is expected -- curvature does not diverge, rather it converges to zero.
We find that for a trapped gas, as $N$ increases, the values of curvature decrease proportionally to a power of $N$ while the temperature at which the maximum value of curvature occurs approaches the usually defined critical temperature

Conjecture [68.8204255655161]
We argue that for generic black hole parameters as initial conditions for Einstein equations, the metric is $C0$-extendable to a larger Lorentzian manifold.
We prove it violates the "complexity=volume" conjecture for a low-temperature hyperbolic AdS$_d+1$ black hole dual to a CFT living on a ($d-1$)-dimensional hyperboloid $H_d-1$.
