- Abstract: We show the formation of Schrodinger cat-like states during the spontaneous parametric down-conversion process (SPDC) when the pump mode is considered quantum and depleted. For the first time, we show the formation of the Schrodinger cat-like states in the fundamental and second harmonic modes under non-dissipative and dissipative regimes. For certain initial state conditions and interaction lengths, negativity is obtained in both modes. The Wigner function is used to visualize qualitatively Schrodinger cat-like states.

We propose a proposal for generating chiral cat states in a spinning resonator supporting both the clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) traveling modes.
By choosing proper system parameters, we achieve the separate generation of the Schr"odinger cat states and coherent states in the two traveling modes.
Our work will provide some insights into the development of chiral optical devices and nonreciprocal photonics physics.

We generate quantum mechanically entangled states of two cavity fields, which themselves are prepared in Schrodinger cat states.
The underlying atom-field interaction is considered off-resonant and three atoms are successively sent through the cavities.
Entanglement properties of the obtained states are characterized by the Von Neumann entropy.
