- Authors: Qiang Lin, Junlong Tian, Pinghua Tang, Jie Peng,
- Abstract summary: We studied the two-qubit quantum Rabi model and found its dark state solutions with at most N photons.
Although generally all photon number states are involved in the two-qubit quantum Rabi model, such $N$-photon solutions exist and may have applications in quantum information processing with ultrastrong couplings.

- Abstract: We studied the two-qubit quantum Rabi model and found its dark state solutions with at most N photons. One peculiar case presents when $N=3$, which has constant eigenenergy in the whole coupling regime and leads to level crossings within the same parity subspace. We also discovered asymptotic solutions with at most $N=2i+3$ $(i=1,2,3,\dots)$ photons, and constant eigenenergy $N\hbar \omega$ when coupling $g$ becomes much larger than photon frequency $\omega$. Although generally all photon number states are involved in the two-qubit quantum Rabi model, such $N$-photon solutions exist and may have applications in quantum information processing with ultrastrong couplings.

We propose a quantum measurement that probabilistically projects a pair of qudits of $d$ onto a Bell state in a two-qubit subspace.
It can be performed using linear-optical circuits with the success probabilities of $1-d-1$ without ancilla photons and $1-d-(k+1)$ with $2(2k-1)$ ancilla photons.

multiphotonic interference and asymptotic classical correspondence [44.99833362998488]
We present the analysis of the quantum two-port interferometer in the $n rightarrow infty$ limit of $n$ partially indistinguishable photons.
Our main result is that the output distribution is dominated by the $O(sqrtn)$ channels around a certain $j*$ that depends on the degree of indistinguishability.
The form is essentially the doubly-humped semi-classical envelope of the distribution that would arise from $2 j*$ indistinguishable photons, and which reproduces the corresponding classical intensity distribution.

of the population inversion: transition to lasing in the class-B limit [62.997667081978825]
No class-B quantum density-matrix model is available to date, capable of accurately describing coherence and photon correlations within a unified theory.
Here we carry out a density-matrix theoretical approach for generic class-B lasers, and provide closed equations for the photonic and atomic reduced density matrix in the Fock basis of photons.
This model enables the study of few-photon bifurcations and non-classical photon correlations in class-B laser devices, also leveraging quantum descriptions of coherently coupled nanolaser arrays.

A general attenuator $Phi_lambda, sigma$ is a bosonic quantum channel that acts by combining the input with a fixed environment state.
We show that for any arbitrary value of $lambda>0$ there exists a suitable single-mode state $sigma(lambda)$.
Our result holds even when we fix an energy constraint at the input of the channel, and implies that quantum communication at a constant rate is possible even in the limit of arbitrarily low transmissivity.
