- Abstract: Two approaches can be utilized to handle the separability problem, finding out whether a given bipartite qudit state is separable or not: a direct procedure on the state space or the effective tool of entanglement witnesses (EWs). This contribution studies the structure of EWs. Exploiting the very concept of mirrored EWs, increasing the detection power, we show, in contrast to the conjecture in a recent paper (Sci. Rep. {\bf 13}, 10733 (2023)), there exist pairs of optimal EWs, which are both non-decomposible, i.e. can detect bound/PPT-entangled states in an optimal way. Since we show that the structure also extends to higher dimensions, our results reveal a further structure of entanglement witnesses.

We study the differences in detection power between real and complex entanglement witnesses (EWs)
We show that a real EW must detect a real entangled state, and conversely a real entangled state must be detected by a real EW.
We conjecture that all entangled states are detected by the EWs locally equivalent to real ones.

We show that the complement of any bipartite pure entangled state is spanned by product states which form a nonorthogonal unextendible product basis (nUPB) of maximum cardinality.
We also report a class of multipartite many-copy indistinguishable ensembles for which local indistinguishability property increases with decreasing number of mixed states.

Entanglement witnesses (EWs) are a versatile tool in the verification of entangled states.
We present a conjecture which claims that the mirrored operator obtained from an optimal EW is either a positive operator or a decomposable EW.
We also show that mirrored operators obtained from the extremal decomposable witnesses are positive semi-definite.

Reinforcement learning in partially observed Markov decision processes (POMDPs) faces two challenges.
It often takes the full history to predict the future, which induces a sample complexity that scales exponentially with the horizon.
We propose a reinforcement learning algorithm named Embed to Control (ETC), which learns the representation at two levels while optimizing the policy.

We study the quality of bipartite entanglement witnesses using fidelity witnesses.
We construct a witness consisting of only 5 non-trivial spin measurements, which we compare with other proposed witnesses.
With post-processing our witness can detect entanglement for any choice of phases in the setup, up to a set of measure zero.

The HOT method is applicable to both unsupervised and semi-supervised learning, and experimental results show that it performs robustly on both synthetic and real-world tasks.
