- Abstract: Irregular multivariate time series impose a trade-off for long-horizon forecasting: discrete methods can distort temporal structure via re-gridding, while continuous-time models often require sequential solvers prone to drift. To bridge this gap, we present Latent Laplace Diffusion (LLapDiff), a generative framework that models the target as a low-dimensional latent trajectory, enabling horizon-wide generation without step-by-step integration over physical time. We guide the reverse process utilizing a stable modal parameterization motivated by stochastic port-Hamiltonian dynamics, and parameterize its mean evolution in the Laplace domain via learnable complex-conjugate poles, enabling direct evaluation over irregular timestamps. We also link continuous dynamics to irregular observations through renewal-averaging analysis, which maps sampling gaps to effective event-domain poles and motivates a gap-aware history summarizer. Extensive experiments show that LLapDiff improves over baselines in long-horizon forecasting, and its continuous-time generative nature supports missing-value imputation by querying the same model at historical timestamps. Version [37.09531298150374]
Traffic series forecasting is challenging due to complex time series patterns for the same time series patterns may vary across time, where, for example, there exist periods across a day showing stronger temporal correlations.
Such-temporal models employ a shared parameter space irrespective of the time locations and the time periods and they assume that the temporal correlations are similar across locations and do not always hold across time which may not always be the case.
We propose a framework that aims at turning ICD-temporal aware models to encode sub-temporal models.

Partial observations of continuous time-series dynamics at arbitrary time stamps exist in many disciplines. Fitting this type of data using statistical models with continuous dynamics is not only promising at an intuitive level but also has practical benefits.
We tackle these challenges with continuous latent process flows (CLPF), a principled architecture decoding continuous latent processes into continuous observable processes using a time-dependent normalizing flow driven by a differential equation.
Our ablation studies demonstrate the effectiveness of our contributions in various inference tasks on irregular time grids.
