- Abstract: Quantum computers can generate real-time correlators of field theories. By adapting the generalized eigenvalue problem to these correlators, energy eigenvalues can be extracted directly. The method is tested using both classical simulations and quantum hardware, successfully resolving several low-lying energy levels in agreement with exact diagonalization. Comparison with an alternative spectrum determination based on the Fourier transform of correlators shows that the proposed approach is substantially more efficient.

We discuss the possibility of using the generator coordinate method (GCM) using hybrid quantum-classical algorithms with reduced quantum resources.
We show that, ultimately, only two qubits is enough to solve the problem regardless of the particle number.
As an alternative to this technique, we also explored how the quantum state deflation method can be adapted to the GCM problem.

Key properties of physical systems can be described by the eigenvalues of matrices that represent the system.
Computational algorithms that determine the eigenvalues of these matrices exist, but they generally suffer from a loss of performance as the matrix grows in size.
This process can be expanded to quantum computation to find the eigenvalues with better performance than the classical algorithms.
