- Abstract: Shao et al. recently showed that the 1+1D staggered fermion Hamiltonian admits a whole algebra of lattice operators that flow to the same axial charge in the thermodynamic limit (TL). On the lattice the principal axial charge does not commute with the vector charge, although their commutator is expected to vanish in the TL, providing a lattice realization of the chiral anomaly. We investigate the effect of this anomaly on the ground state(s) using the entanglement asymmetry. Unexpectedly, the asymmetry remains nonzero in the TL, despite the vanishing of the commutator, and exhibits a novel scaling behavior.

We study perturbations that break the integrability and/or the symmetry of the model, as well as modifications in the measurement protocol, characterizing the resulting chaos and lack of integrability through the Dissipative Spectral Form Factor (DSFF)
We show that while the measurement-induced phase transition and its properties appear broadly insensitive to lack of integrability and breaking of the $bbZ$ symmetry, a modification of the measurement basis from the transverse to the longitudinal direction makes the phase transition disappear altogether.

We consider a system of interacting spinless fermions on a two-leg triangular ladder with $pi/2$ magnetic flux per triangular plaquette.
Microscopically, the system exhibits a U(1) symmetry corresponding to the conservation of total fermionic charge, and a discrete $mathbbZ$ symmetry.
At the intersection of the three phases, the system features a critical point with an emergent SU(2) symmetry.

We consider the quantum quench in the XX spin chain starting from a tilted N'eel state which explicitly breaks the $U(1)$ symmetry of the post-quench Hamiltonian.
Very surprisingly, the $U(1)$ symmetry is not restored at large time because of the activation of a non-Abelian set of charges which all break it.
