- Abstract: Understanding inter-site mutual mode interaction in coupled physical systems
is essential to comprehend large compound systems as this local interaction
determines the successive multiple inter-site energy transfer efficiency. We
demonstrate that only the non-Hermitian coupling can correctly account for the
light transfer between two coupled optical cavities. We also reveal that the
non-Hermitian coupling effect becomes much crucial as the system dimension gets
smaller. Our results provide an important insight to deal with general
coupled-devices in the quantum regime.

miscibility-immiscibility transition (MIT) in a weakly interacting mixture of Bose gases is determined by the strengths of the intra and inter-component two-body contact interactions.
We investigate the MIT in the strongly interacting phases of two-component bosonic mixture trapped in a homogeneous two-dimensional square optical lattice.
Our study contributes to the better understanding of miscibility properties of multi-component systems in the strongly interacting regime.

We realize for the first time momentum-exchange interactions in which atoms exchange their momentum states via collective emission and absorption of photons from a common cavity mode.
The momentum-exchange interaction leads to an observed all-to-all Ising-like interaction in a matter-wave interferometer, which is useful for entanglement generation.

We study the time required to maximally entangle two principal systems interacting under the same energy constraints.
Direct interactions are proved to provide the fastest way to entangle the principal systems, but it turns out that there exist mediated dynamics that are just as fast.
The final message is that correlations save energy: one has to supply extra energy if maximal entanglement across the principal systems is to be obtained as fast as with an initially correlated mediator.

Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) is a phenomenon that can provide strong and robust interfacing between optical signals and quantum coherence of electronic spins.

We make use of one such hybrid bipartite quantum model, with one subsystem made of a pair of qubits and another comprising a pair of oscillators.
Our basic model is the standard double Jaynes-Cummings system, which is known to support both entanglement transfer and entanglement sudden death.
We show that compared to the beamsplitter or dipole-dipole interaction, the Ising interaction can have a significant positive impact on entanglement sudden death and birth.
