- Abstract: In this work we study the production and swapping of non-gaussian
multipartite entanglement in a setup containing a parametric amplifier which
generates three photons in different modes coupled to three qubits. We prove
that the entanglement generated in this setup is of nongaussian nature. We
introduce witnesses of genuine tripartite nongaussian entanglement, valid both
for mode and qubit entanglement. Moreover, those witnesses show that the
entanglement generated among the photons can be swapped to the qubits, and
indeed the qubits display nongaussian genuine tripartite entanglement over a
wider parameter regime, suggesting that our setup could be a useful tool to
extract entanglement generated in higher-order parametric amplification for
quantum metrology or quantum computing applications.

We reformulate the technique of third quantization in a way that explicitly connects all three methods.
We first show that our formulation reveals a fundamental dissipative symmetry present in all quadratic bosonic or fermionic Lindbladians.
For bosons, we then show that the Wigner function and the characteristic function can be thought of as ''wavefunctions'' of the density matrix.

Bosonic quantum error correcting codes are primarily designed to protect against single-photon loss.
Error correction requires a recovery operation that maps the error states -- which have opposite parity -- back onto the code states.
Here, we realize a collection of photon-number-selective, simultaneous photon addition operations on a bosonic mode.
