- Abstract: Entropy production and the detailed fluctuation theorem are of fundamental
importance for thermodynamic processes. In this paper, we study the multiple
entropy production for multitime quantum processes in a unified framework. For
closed quantum systems and Markovian open quantum systems, the given entropy
productions all satisfy the detailed fluctuation relation. This also shows that
the entropy production rate under these processes is non-negative. For
non-Markovian open quantum systems, the memory effect can lead to a negative
entropy production rate. Thus, in general, the entropy production of the
marginal distribution does not satisfy the detailed FT relation. Our framework
can be applied to a wide range of physical systems and dynamics. It provides a
systematic tool for studying entropy production and its rate under arbitrary
quantum processes.

Entanglement entropy is the von Neumann entropy of quantum entanglement of pure states.
The relation between entanglement entropy and entanglement distillation has been known only for the setting, and the meaning of entanglement entropy in the single-copy regime has so far remained open.
Our results imply that entanglement entropy quantifies the amount of entanglement available in a bipartite pure state to be used for quantum information processing, giving results an operational meaning also in entangled single-copy setup.

In thermodynamics, entropy production and work quantify irreversibility and the consumption of useful energy when a system is driven out of equilibrium.
We here derive a general formula for computing the joint statistics of work and entropy production in Markovian driven quantum systems.
As a corollary, we derive a modified fluctuation-dissipation relation (FDR) for the entropy production alone, applicable to transitions between arbitrary steady-states.

The quench dynamics of many-body quantum systems may exhibit non-analyticities in the Loschmidt echo.
We show that critical quenches lead to a quasi-monotonic growth of the Wehrl entropy in time, combined with small oscillations.
The small oscillations imply negative entropy production rates and, therefore, signal the recurrences of the Loschmidt echo.
