- Abstract: We study static superfluid properties of alkali-earth-like Fermi atomic systems in the presence of orbital Feshbach resonance. Using a two-band description of the ground state and excited state and a mean-field approximation of the intra-band atomic pairing, we investigate the phase transitions and crossover between BCS and Bose-Einstein-condensate (BEC) superfluidity. At zero temperature, we find exact BCS analytical solutions for the mean-field gap equations and number equations. Using these exact solutions, we calculate various static properties, such as superfluid order parameters, chemical potentials, density variations, density profiles, correlation and coherence lengths, ground-state energy, and Tan's contact density across the entire BCS-BEC crossover region. We anticipate that our closed-form analytical results can be used as a benchmark for future experimental and theoretical investigations and will have an impact on the current understanding of two-band superconductors such as MgB$_2$.

One possible approach to describe this complex system with high accuracy relies on numerical treatment such as the quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) techniques.

We propose an interferometric method to probe pair correlations in a gas of spin-1/2 fermions.
The method consists of a Ramsey sequence where both spin states of the Fermi gas are set in a superposition of a state at rest and a state with a large recoil velocity.
The off-diagonal long-range order is directly reflected in the behavior of the interferometric signal for long interrogation times.

We present a Feshbach perspective on the origin of strong pairing in Fermi-Hubbard type models.
Existing experimental and numerical results on hole-doped cuprates lead us to conjecture the existence of a light, long-lived, low-energy excited state of two holes.
The emergent Feshbach resonance we propose could also underlie superconductivity in other doped antiferromagnetic Mott insulators.
