- Abstract: We present a new category of quantum Lissajous states for a 2DHO having commensurate angular frequencies. The states result from the projection of ordinary coherent states onto a degenerate subspace of the 2DHO. In this way, new, non-classical quantum mechanically stationary states arise from the classical but non-stationary coherent states. The connection to Lissajous figures is that our states all have probability densities that are localized along the corresponding classical Lissajous figures. We further emphasize the important interplay between the probability current density and the emergence of quantum interference in the states we examine. In doing so, we are able to present a consistent discussion of a class of states known as vortex states.

We show that the right choice of basis to be used to estimate coherence is the separable basis.
We compute the entanglement and quantum coherence in the two qubit mixed states prepared using the Bell states and one of the state from the computational basis.
We then calculate the teleportation of these mixed states and find the regions where the states have a fidelity greater than the classical teleportation fidelity.

We study the superpositions of a pure entangled state and a pure product state, when the amplitudes corresponding to the states appearing in any superposition are nonzero.
All such superpositions produce only entangled states if the initial entangled state has Schmidt rank three or higher.
We find that conditional inseparability of superpositions help in identifying strategies for conclusive local discrimination of shared quantum ensembles.
