- Abstract: There has been many instances where the entangled state as a probe acts better than the single state in the task of distinguishing quantum channels. We provide a proof in the agreement of this motion in the context of single shot distinguishability of two unitaries. But interestingly, there exists two unitaries which are distinguishable with non-maximally entangled state but indistinguishable with maximally entangled state. One striking feature of optimal probing state in this task can be observed if we increase the number of unitaries more than two. There exists a class of unitaries in every dimension $\geqslant$ 3 for which an input entangled state cannot distinguish them but an input single state can.

Device-independent certification of quantum states allows the characterization of quantum states present inside a device.
A major problem in this regard is to certify quantum states using minimal resources.
We consider the multipartite quantum steering scenario with an arbitrary number of parties but only one of which is trusted in the sense that the measurements performed by the trusted party are known.

We prove that for bipartite states with a local dimension that is either $2, 4$ or $8$, every state corresponds to a basis.
For some states of four qubits we are unable to find a basis, leading us to conjecture that not all quantum states admit a corresponding measurement.

A core principle of quantum theory is that non-orthogonal quantum states cannot be perfectly distinguished with single-shot measurements.

We study the superpositions of a pure entangled state and a pure product state, when the amplitudes corresponding to the states appearing in any superposition are nonzero.
All such superpositions produce only entangled states if the initial entangled state has Schmidt rank three or higher.
We find that conditional inseparability of superpositions help in identifying strategies for conclusive local discrimination of shared quantum ensembles.
