- Abstract: We propose a new approach to the generation of entangled states, both hybrid
and consisting exclusively of continuous variable (CV) states. A single mode
squeezed vacuum is mixed with a delocalized single photon on arbitrary beam
splitter (BS) with subsequent registration of some measurement outcome in
auxiliary mode. The entangled states are generated whenever any event is
measured in auxiliary mode. Negativity is used as a measure of entanglement.
Under certain initial set conditions, the conditioned state becomes as
entangled as possible. New types of CV states are introduced. This approach can
be expanded to implement a high complexity quantum network.

Multi-mode squeezing is critical for enabling CV quantum networks and distributed quantum sensing.
To date, multi-mode squeezing measured by homodyne detection has been limited to single-room experiments.
This demonstration enables future applications in quantum networks and quantum sensing that rely on distributed multi-mode squeezing.

We propose two schemes for generating Wigner-negative entangled states unconditionally in mechanical resonators.
We show analytically that both schemes stabilize a Wigner-negative entangled state that combines the entanglement of a two-mode squeezed vacuum with a cubic nonlinearity.
We then perform extensive numerical simulations to test the robustness of Wigner-negative entanglement attained by approximate CPE states stabilized in the presence of thermal decoherence.

We propose a continuous-variable (CV) SWAP test that requires no ancilla register, thereby generalizing the ancilla-free SWAP test for qubits.
In this ancilla-free CV SWAP test, the computational basis measurement is replaced by photon number-resolving measurement.
We show how the ancilla-free CV SWAP test can be extended to many modes and applied to quantum algorithms.

between CV state and DV delocalized photon [0.0]
Hybrid entangled states prove to be necessary for quantum information processing within heterogeneous quantum networks.
A family of CV states is introduced. Each of such CV states is first superimposed on a beam-splitter with a delocalized photon and then detected by a photo-detector behind the beam-splitter.
Detection of any photon number heralds generation of a hybrid CV-DV entangled state in the outputs, independent of transmission/reflection coefficients of the beam-splitter and size of the input CV state.
