- Abstract: In this letter, we study the scattering of spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ particles from
a spin-independent parity time ($\cal PT$)-symmetric complex potential, and for
the first time, theoretically demonstrate the coexistence of $\cal
PT$-symmetric and $\cal PT$-broken phases for broadband energy spectra in this
system. We also show the existence of anisotropic transmission resonances,
accessible through the tuning of energy. Our results are promising for
applications in spintronics, semiconductor-based devices, and a better
understanding of the topological surface states.

We show broadband nonreciprocal photon transmission in the emphreversed-dissipation regime.
In the reversed-dissipation regime, the nonreciprocal bandwidth is no longer limited by the mechanical mode linewidth.
We find that the direction of the unidirectional and chiral energy transfer could be reversed by changing the emphparity of the Eps.

Non-Hermitian systems with parity-time reversal ($mathcalPT$) or anti-$mathcalPT$ symmetry have attracted a wide range of interest owing to their unique characteristics and counterintuitive phenomena.
We implement a Floquet Hamiltonian of a single qubit with anti-$mathcalPT$ symmetry by periodically driving a dissipative quantum system of a single trapped ion.

We investigate two-hole states in prototypical coupled Si and Ge quantum dots via different theoretical approaches.
We find that, in the weak interdot regime, the ground state and first excited multiplet of the two-hole system display -- unlike their electronic counterparts -- a high degree of $J$-mixing.
The light-hole component additionally induces $M$-mixing and a weak coupling between spinors characterized by different permutational symmetries.

Parity-time symmetric systems are governed by non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with exceptional-point (EP) degeneracies.
Here, we obtain the $mathcalPT$-threshold for a one-dimensional, finite Kitaev chain.
In particular, for an even chain with zero on-site potential, we find a re-entrant $mathcalPT$-symmetric phase bounded by second-order EP contours.

It is possible to simulate the dynamics of a single spin-$1/2$ ($mathsfPT$ symmetric) system by embedding it into a subspace of a larger Hilbert space with unitary dynamics.
We visualize it as a strongly correlated central spin model with the additional spin-$1/2$ playing the role of central spin.
