- Abstract: Pati and Braunstein defined a deleting machine and showed the impossibility of deleting one of two identical copies of an unknown quantum state. So far, no one has defined two non-identical copies of a quantum state, of course no one has discussed the impossibility of deleting one of two non-identical copies of an unknown quantum state. In this paper, we define $u|ψ>$ and $U|ψ>$, where $u$ and $U$ are any unitary operators, as two unitary copies of a quantum state $|ψ>$, and show that it is impossible to delete one of two unitary copies of an unknown state.

Perfect deterministic distinguishing of nonorthogonal quantum states is forbidden by the linear and unitary structure of quantum mechanics.<n>It has often been assumed that, if such distinguishing were available, it would be the resource enabling work extraction from a single heat bath.<n>We show that this expectation identifies the wrong thermodynamic operation and prove such hypothetical operation increases, rather than decreases, the joint entropy of system and detector.

We find a duality between open many-body systems governed by the Gorini-Kossakowski-Sudarshan-Lindblad (GKSL) equation.
Under this duality, the identity operator on the open system side maps to the thermofield double state.
We identify broad classes of many-body open systems with nontrivial explicit eigen operators $Q$ of the Lindbladian superoperator.

We give a collection of quantum states and quantum oracles relative to which these states are efficiently clonable but not efficiently telegraphable.
We show how such states can be used to protect against key exfiltration.

A core principle of quantum theory is that non-orthogonal quantum states cannot be perfectly distinguished with single-shot measurements.

We study the superpositions of a pure entangled state and a pure product state, when the amplitudes corresponding to the states appearing in any superposition are nonzero.
All such superpositions produce only entangled states if the initial entangled state has Schmidt rank three or higher.
We find that conditional inseparability of superpositions help in identifying strategies for conclusive local discrimination of shared quantum ensembles.
